Is your environmental project in need of analytical rigour & storytelling? Do you need help to analyse a complex topic and articulate its findings? I write reports, leadership articles & case studies on challenging issues for a range of audiences, with clarity, empathy and engagement at the core. Published work below:
Published as the murder of George Floyd triggered the global Black Lives Matter movement, this op-ed explains that environmental racism (disproportionate impact of environmental hazards like pollution, poor water quality, air, food etc on marginalised communities) means Covid-19 is killing more Black, Latinx and Native American people than white counter parts.
In 2019, Extinction Rebellion forced governments around the world to call "national climate emergencies" and face the truth about the destruction of the natural world and the food shortages society will face as a result. This op-ed explores a range of global innovative businesses that have developed solutions for farmers in the face of this ecological adversity - and questioning to what extent these technologies can bridge the gap where political inertia remains.
In 2019, the EU was set to greatly expand its gas consumption via the Nord Stream 2 from Russia to Germany along with plans to double the volume of US gas imports by 2023. With the EU branding itself as a leader in green energy, I describe the hypocrisy of such plans when gas is not green but another fossil fuel. These plans are simply swapping one earth destroying vice for another with the EU masquerading as an eco-trail blazer with a greenwashing gas campaign.
In the wake of Brexit, the UK farming industry was predicted to lose £3 billion in EU subsidies. This op-ed argues that the National Trust proposal to pay farmers for environmental services, ensuring we value nature rather than production at all costs, should be seized as an important, sustainable opportunity of leaving the bloc.
A 2016 ‘global ban on ivory trade’ left the EU in defence mode. The EU claims critics misunderstand their motives as a result of the legal complexities in the Convention for International Trade of Endangered Species (CITES). This op-ed argues the legal complexity is a red herring and the EU's decision is a shameful message that ivory is an economic resource.
This series consists of interviews hosted by Montfort Communications with prominent lawyers, journalists and business leaders on hot topics from Black Lives Matters, fake news and whistleblowers. Below are some examples of how episodes can be crafted into engaging copy portraying the value of a business service, in this case of litigation communication, through storytelling.

Let me write and you get back to what you do best.
How? We communicate. I learn about you, your style, tone and your needs. I will do my research. Then craft report, leadership articles and case studies, or whatever you need get your message to the top of the agenda.
With a Masters degree in Global Environmental and Climate Change Law from Edinburgh University, researching and writing on the intersection between conservation, technology and ecology is a well-oiled skill. Backed by academic and professional expertise, since 2013 I have learned to weave engaging and educational online content as an environmental current affairs writer published in the Ecology and the Fair Observer and business-to-business copywriter for the Scottish environmental organisations and for several podcast productions covering human rights, politics and litigation.
